Strength Quiz

Quiz yourself to discover how you can improve your strength of body, mind, spirit and senses.

Do you use the way your mind works to your advantage?

Too often, we listen to other people tell us "how to think." Perhaps your husband is logical, your mother is intuitive, and your best friend is spontaneous; no matter how well their style suits them (and amuses you), it is probably not the same as yours.

No matter how your brain is wired, it's suited just right to you. Figure out how you think, hone your skills, and let the strength of your convictions shine.

Do you use your will to create the dramas that make up your life?

If you realize it or not, the answer to this question is "YES!"  Your subconscious mind latches onto your conscious thoughts like a leech. If you often tell yourself that you are "flighty," then your subconscious mind works to enhance and retain that air-headed state. If you think that you are rich, then your subconscious mind works to enhance and retain your wealth.

Feed your subconscious mind what you want to be your reality, and you will create a stronger identity and a more delicious life.

Do you refill your strength reserves on a regular basis?

How many excuses have you used today? If you're using excuses to put off, completely avoid or diminish someone or something, then you need to recharge your strength reserves. Procrastination is a sure sign of "not feeling up to it." If you procrastinate, you are not lazy or incompetent, but you are ignoring your need to recoup some spent strength.

Do you replenish your strength daily?

When was the last time you talked to the people, did the things, or thought/prayed in the ways that give you strength? It is important to replenish your strength on a daily basis.

You can add strength from the physical perspective by using weights during your fitness routine.  Or you can add strength in unseen ways through conversation, relaxation, prayers or meditation with Spirit, and an infinite number of other ways.  Find (or remember) what gives you strength, and give yourself that gift each day.

Do you lift heavy objects?

(If so, make sure you bend your knees and lift with your legs!)  Lifting heavy objects on a routine basis will strengthen your physical body if you lift correctly.  When you do lift something heavy, place all of your thoughts on the lift itself.

Be mindful of what your body is doing.  Being mindful benefits your body and spirit too, because mindfulness quiets distraction and eliminates stress.

Do you strengthen your spirit by doing joyful activities?

Spirit gets high on joy! Your spirit is the "best" part of you - it is everything you want to be all of the time (but maybe aren't always able to be). Spirit is ecstatic when you are happy because you're taking time to enjoy simplicity and peace in one form or another; Spirit is simplicity and peace.

When you choose to do something that gives you joy, you give a silent nod to Spirit that says, "Hey. Thanks for all you do for me." Doing things that bring you joy bring you closer to Spirit.

Do you admirably respond to tests of strength?

Yes, our strength is tested on occasion. The children pick on one another, the car dies, our dear husbands forget to enter a withdrawal in the checkbook...you know the drill. How do you respond to these tests?

How would you like to respond? Picture your best response to a trying situation right now, and you can be sure that you will react that way in the future.

The Big Question

What could you do right now to become physically, mentally, or spiritually stronger?

Hint: the right answer is the first thing that pops into your mind.
