What happens around and inside of you determines your personal balance point.

For example, you may want to spend more time on fitness and less time on housework. If you adjust your schedule to give fitness priority, then you are in balance. But if your white-gloved Auntie is coming for tea today you may feel a greater degree of balance by attacking your dust-bunnies in lieu of an extra ten minutes on the treadmill!

Balance is ensuring the proper amount of time is spent on what is important. It is important to be aware of what was important yesterday may not be important NOW. When you're balanced, you actively and continually choosing what to embrace and what to release with the intention of maintaining harmony with your mental, emotional, spiritual and physical needs.

Being aware of your needs and desires is crucial to finding and maintaining your balance. This may sound like a simple task and maybe you do it very well. However, many women, especially those in abusive relationships of any sort, lose sight of this fundamental virtue.
