you look for examples of joy and happiness when you are feeling down,

you appreciate or express an innate, deep happiness concerning large and small events, situations, feelings, or accomplishments within yourself or for others.

Look for It: Make looking for the color orange a game. When you see it, add up one point for happiness!

Only See What You Want: Keep your eyes open for examples of joy both small and large. A smile, a hug, a warm light in your neighbors window. You will always find what you're looking for, so remember to see what you want!

Hear

Hearing laughter makes people happier! Maybe the quiet murmur of a coffeehouse makes you feel cozy and warm, or maybe you know a song that never fails to lift your spirits or remind you of a happy time. Make yourself happier by listening.

Joy Meditation

Imagine Joy: Make "joy" the focus of your thoughts. Try to imagine and feel joy for as long as you can. It's amazing how quickly you can convince your mind that you are indeed happy - even if there seems to be nothing to cause it. YOU cause joy, so pretend it's already yours.

Define Joy for yourself: What does happiness mean to YOU? How will you know when you're happy? What does happiness look like? What does it taste like? What sound does happiness make? What does joy feel like?
