How to Obtain Tea's Medicinal Benefits
If you are drinking a special brew to help heal or cure a physical ailment, steep or simmer the tea longer.
A good rule of thumb for medicinal tea brews is to steep or simmer the tea for 30 minutes. This gives the herbs enough time to release all of their medicinal chemicals. Your tea will have a much stronger and possibly bitter taste.
If you like strong tea flavor but are not concerned about the medicinal benefit, simply use more tea and steep for 5-15 minutes.
