Ayurveda

Called the "science of life," Ayurveda originated in India over 50,000 years ago. If you have heard of the metabolic types vata, pitta, or kapha, then you have heard of Ayruveda.

The basis of Ayurveda is that a healthy life stems from a healthy, metabolic type appropriate diet and high morals. If your food intake suits your metabolic type, then you will retain optimum health. If your food intake contradicts your metabolic type, then your body will develop disease.

Food may be the basis of Ayurvedics, but moral standing plays a heavy role in overall health, too. Moral people who do what they must to remain morally responsible are more likely to be healthy.

Ayruvedics is intended to be a way of life, not a treatment program. It encourages healthful eating based on your metabolic type and conscious moral actions based on good common sense.

When disease is present in a body, it is seen as an imbalance that needs to be controlled through different herbs (such as ginger, licorice, or myrrh), foods, and lifestyle changes.
