JesusJesus is one of my muses for many reasons, but mostly because he always did as Spirit guided.
Jesus never once questioned Spirit – unless you count his words from the
cross asking if God had forsaken him. And yet, don’t all humans wonder that from
time to time even if we’re not dangling bloody and beaten from a cross while a
storm threatens to rage overhead? Even so, isn’t it more of a plea to know we’re
not alone than the actual belief that we are?
Jesus was a guy who "got it." He understood that only by listening to
Spirit would he find wholeness and greatness within himself and be able to pass it along to others.
I imagine that if Jesus had been walking north for three days and Spirit told him to turn around and head south, that’s what he did. No questions, no internal debate about how crazy he may be. Even if his left foot kept moving north out of habit, he found the wherewithal to consciously change his direction.
And do we really need to get into all the wonderful things Spirit was able to accomplish and do through him? Because Jesus was constantly willing to do as instructed by Spirit, he created a lifetime of greatness and a legacy of powerful love.
